The StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar has a folding design we’ve never seen before. These Wall-Mounted Dip Bars fold up almost flush with the wall so that you can hide them when you’re not using them. This is a space-saving solution for any Calisthenics Home Gym, and it comes with some advantages and disadvantages, which we’ll go over. StreetGains is a Dutch company that produces Streetlifting equipment. That means this Dip Bar should be meant for Weighted Dips and be perfectly stable. We’ll go over the StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar and all of the important facets.

🔑Key Takeaways
- The bar features 39mm plastic grips, which limit its usability to exercises such as dips and leg raises. You are also limited to a width of around 62cm at the location of these grips.
- StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar is a strong, durable dip bar designed for push exercises like dips.
- The bar has a maximum capacity of 250kg, which is enough overhead for Weighted Calisthenics and Streetlifting with a dip belt.
- The bar folds up and out of the way when not in use, almost flush with the wall. Folding it up and down is quick and easy.
First Look At the StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar
We’ve seen compact Dip Bars before, and we’ve seen Dip Bars that are mounted to some surface before as well. We’ve never seen Dip Bars that combine compactness with the stability of a mounted design. In comes the StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar, which folds up when not in use and rests almost flush against the wall. A strategically positioned plant will (almost) hide the fact that it’s there.

Folding it up and down is very easy, and the “locking mechanism” is simple and looks very robust. You lift the bars, the diagonal arm on which the rest lifts out of its socket.
Design-wise, it looks cool and durable. All the parts are high-gauge. Most of the assembly is made of black powder-coated steel for that classic Calisthenics or Streetlifting look. The added grips are a hard plastic with knurling. For the rest, only the heavy-duty bolts and washers are silver. Finally, there is a StreetGains logo cutout on the wall plate.

The handles, that is, the plastic grips, have a diameter of 39mm. The width between bars is 53cm in the middle. The bars do slant inward, but you can only use the plastic grips at the end. The width there is around 62cm, and in practice, that’s the width you will be exercising at. For me, that’s a bit wide, but I can still exercise on it. If you have broader shoulders, this might be the perfect fit for you.
Although you can’t decide the width, you can decide how high you mount your StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar. I always recommend placing them high enough so you can do your dips without bending your knees.
Exercising on the StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar
The first noticeable thing is that these are not parallel bars. Typically, we do our dips on two parallel bars, but the slanted grips on the StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar mean you have to do them with your arms and shoulders turned a slight bit inward. When I did my dips, though, these slanted grips felt more natural for my shoulders and wrists.

The grips are made of hard plastic with a textured surface that helps retain traction. I prefer powder-coated steel to plastic, but in this case, the plastic grips are very well done. They still feel nice, but they would be even better if they were a little thicker for that wrist relief. I’d prefer 42mm grips, or even thicker ones, for equipment used exclusively for push exercises.
I tried using the powder-coated steel parts of the bars. However, the wall offset is too small, and I kept bumping my nose against it. You’re really stuck using just the very ends of the bars, where the grips are. I tried turning away from the wall as well and using the powder-coated steel bars. In that case, my backside kept hitting the horizontal bar that connects the two diagonal bars.

You can use the grips while turned away from the wall. For dips, this is not so nice, since your hands are now turned outward. But for leg- and knee raises, this works just fine. That is about all the versatility you’ll get from this product: dips and leg raises.

As a mounted design, the StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar is very stable. I didn’t notice any undue movement or instability while I was using it. The only thing I became aware of is that explosive dips might (possibly, maybe) lift the diagonal arm out of its socket. If that’s very likely to happen, I don’t know, but it is something you should be aware of.
Weighted Calisthenics
The StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar has a maximum load capacity of 250kg, which makes Weighted Calisthenics possible. Of course, StreetGains is a Streetlifting brand, so we didn’t expect anything else. Most users will never come close to maxing out this dip bar while wearing a Weighted Vest. Even the heavier “lifters” can comfortably add a Dip Bar to their exercises with space to add more weight with a Dip Belt.

Conclusions About the StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar
The foldable design is unique. It folds up and out of the way, making the StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar a nice addition to a home gym where space comes at a premium. Of course, one neat trick does not make for good dip bars. The grips on this bar are a bit wide apart and a bit thin, and despite the good execution, it’s still a bit plasticky.
That said, this is Streetlifting equipment. The StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar is very stable and can support a substantial amount of additional weight. The slanted grips put your wrists and shoulders in a more relaxed position for dips, which can help you squeeze out a bit more performance with weighted dips. Besides, the grip feel is still quite good, and I am probably personally biased towards powder-coated steel grips anyway.
If you are looking for a solid, affordable platform that focuses on dips (with some core exercises like leg raises also being a possibility), then the StreetGains Wall-Mounted Dip Bar might be just what you’re looking for.
