BULLBAR 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar Review 2026: A Stable, Full-Sized Portable Pull-Up Bar

Man in beige shirt setting up and hanging with one arm from the Bullbar 2.0 foldable pull-up bar on a roof with a church in the background.

The BULLBAR Foldable Pull-Up Bar is a full-sized, free-standing, portable Pull-Up Bar. It combines the advantages of a Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar with a portable design, folding up to the size of a large gym bag. This makes the Bullbar easy to transport without compromising features like bar height and freedom of movement around the bar. This sounds promising, so we got our own BULLBAR 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar to review. Let’s find out if the ease of transportation compromises essentials like stability, durability, and exercise variety.

🔑Key Takeaways

  • The Bullbar 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar is the easiest to set up Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar.
  • A full-height bar that folds out from a bag, the ideal full-sized, portable Pull-Up Bar.
  • Great versatility with Pull-Ups, Chin-Ups, Dips, Rows and Push-Ups.
  • Stable enough for all exercises below the bar, including with side-to-side movement like Archer Pull-Ups.
  • You get outstanding durability and quality, along with the innovation of a foldable design. This bar is in the higher price segment.
  • The Bullbar is often compared to the Fit Home Gym. I did a dedicated Bullbar vs Fit Home Gym comparison in which the Bullbar came out on top.

Setting Up the Bullbar 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar

Setting up the Bullbar 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar is straightforward. The bar folds up like a harmonica, and you pull it up the same way. Like a magic trick, you pull out a full-sized Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar from a large gym bag. You insert the safety pins, and you’re done: a complete foldable Pull-Up Bar that comes from a bag slightly larger than a big gym bag. The Bullbar folds up the same way and will fit back into its bag easily.

This is a nifty feature, and we liked it immediately. It’s not too heavy either, you can comfortably pull the bag to and from a car or another room since it has wheels.

The Bullbar 2.0 has a sleek design and a really cool look. It’s made of a dark grey powder-coated steel with dark beige dip handles. The white logo is a simple block lettering of the company name. The safety pins are a high-gloss bright red, while the rubber feet (which have a subtle Bullbar logo imprinted on them) have the same dark beige color as the dip handles.

The Bullbar 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar combines the modern, dark powder-coated look with small, bold color accents. They got the look down exactly right.

The bar and handles have foam covers. I’m not a fan of foam, as it compresses and doesn’t maintain a consistent diameter. Foam also deteriorates with use. The foam used is the stiffer kind, which is not the worst.

The Best Carry Bag Ever

The Bullbar carry bag is one of the best bags for Calisthenics Equipment. The bag seems very durable to me, with plenty of hold straps and double-stitched bands for extra durability. The bag comes with wheels for easy transportation. This is how all carry bags should be in this price segment. The Bullbar carry bag is a separate purchase, but I highly recommend it to make full use of that portability.

Exercising on the Bullbar 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar

The Bullbar 2.0 is a highly versatile Pull-Up Bar, offering numerous options for Pull-Ups and Chin-Ups, as well as dips, Push-Ups, and more. The first thing I noticed about its versatility is the added swivel hooks on the bottom. These allow for Resistance Bands to be hooked behind, adding banded variations of exercises like Push-Ups, Dips and Pull-Ups.

Pull-Ups & Chin-Ups

For Pull-Ups and Chin-Ups, the Bullbar feels thinner than most other top bars. With 31mm, it’s among the thinnest, especially for a Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar. The foam feels comfortable and is quite firm. It resembles a smooth, powder-coated bar. My best guess is that these are 28mm bars with the foam increasing the girth to 31mm.

The slanted ends give you a slightly wider Pull-Up, but the overall length of 92.5cm makes actual Wide Pull-Ups impossible. The sides of the bar also have a few sharp edges next to the slanted parts of the bar. I didn’t cut myself, but that’s only because I was careful enough not to place my hands at the very edges.

For your standard Pull-Ups and Chin-Ups, minus the wide variations, the Bullbar 2.0 does a good job. I have to bend my knees a little with all Pull-up and Chin-Up exercises. The bar is 205cm tall, which is on the shorter end for a Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar. However, making it taller would make it less stable and less of a portable Pull-Up Bar.

The 205cm you get is the minimum required to qualify for a Free-Standing design, while maintaining compactness and portability.

Dip Handles

The dip handles are thicker than the top bar, but the foam is also squishier. It does provide a slight increase in girth, which is always nice for push exercises. I also like that the handles point slightly inward, giving you two widths between the dip handles.

I do have to bend my knees while doing Dips, but that is also the case with standalone Dip Bars. Even if you could mount them higher, you would probably bump your head against the top bar, so this is a good compromise made by Bullbar.

Stability of the Bullbar 2.0

The bar does wobble, but so do all Free-Standing Pull-Up Bars. For regular Pull-Ups and Chin-Ups, the bar is stable enough. I can even do my Windshield Wipers and Archer Pull-Ups without issue. The Dip handles can get in the way when doing side-to-side exercises, so I now remove them for my Archer Pull-Ups. For exercises below the bar, this bar is very stable.

Above-the-bar exercises, such as Muscle-Ups, are likely to be an issue. This is the case with all Free-Standing Pull-Up Bars, though. There is too much of a wobble to do these exercises safely and with confidence.

 Rows & Push-Ups

For your Rows and Push-Ups, you can use the straight part of the dip handles. The Bullbar 2.0 is stable enough to allow you to fully extend your legs during row exercises. L-Sits and V-Sits are also possible on the handles.

The three height settings allow you to optimize the height for your exercise, like a shallower incline for Incline Push-Ups, or a steeper incline to focus on those triceps extensions with a deep Push-Up.

Adding Resistance Bands

Time to put those swivel hooks to use with a pair of Resistance Bands. First, using the bands for Assisted Pull-Ups is not ideal. The limited height means you’ll hit the floor with your legs extended, and you need to extend your legs to put tension on the Resistance Band. Not ideal. The flipside, though, works perfectly. Hooking the Resistance Band around the hooks and over your shoulders makes for a good banded Pull-Up.

It works even better for banded Dips and banded Push-Ups. At these heights, you can make full use of the benefits of a Resistance Band just by adding them to your exercise.

Weighted Calisthenics on the BULLBAR 2.0

The best way to get into Weighted Calisthenics is to wear a Weighted Vest. The high maximum weight capacity of 182kg of the Bullbar 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar gives you plenty of leeway to add more weight. Since this bar is better suited to add weight than to remove resistance with the Resistance Bands, I recommend immediately going for a Weighted Vest instead.

Adding Gymnastic Rings

No Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar will pass the mark if it can’t handle my favorite addon, Gymnastic Rings. Adding Gymnastic Rings to the top bar is always a fantastic idea since they add incredible variety to your basic setup. You can just shove them to the side and out of the way when you want to use the top bar.

The Bullbar 2.0 is stable and sturdy enough for Gymnastic Rings, transforming what is just a Pull-Up Bar into a complete Calisthenics Home Gym.

Conclusions About the BULLBAR 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar

The foam handles could be worse, and are so firm that I could compare the feel of the topbar to a smooth powder-coated bar. The same can’t be said of the dip handles. The foam on the dip handles is a lot squishier. This is less of a problem with Push-Ups, where part of your weight is on your feet. With dips, you can feel your hands sink into the foam grips. Overall, the grips are not bad at all, but we still prefer a well-finished, powder-coated steel.

The Bullbar 2.0 is surprisingly stable, and you usually don’t even notice the slight wobble. You can do all your exercises below the bar, no problem, and it will even handle Windshield Wipers and Archer Pull-Ups. As with all Free-Standing designs, I do not recommend this bar for exercises performed above the bar, such as Rollovers and Muscle-Ups.

Excluding the exercises above the bar, you get a lot of versatility with your Bullbar 2.0. Pull-Ups, Chin-Ups, Dips, Rows and Push-Ups are all in the books for a Bullbar. You can add Resistance Bands or make use of the high weight capacity for Weighted Calisthenics, and the bar pairs well with Gymnastic Rings, too.

That you get all of this in a very compact and portable package is impressive. You won’t have a super tall Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar, but it does fold up into a bag. That’s a good compromise, especially considering the durability, build quality and versatility of the product. With all that in mind, we definitely recommend the BULLBAR 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar.
