We’ve done over 150 reviews and comparisons of the best Calisthenics equipment, featuring more than 300 products total. The combined worth of all this Calisthenics gear is over 30.000 euros, and we’re not done yet. In the meantime, it’s worth highlighting all the winners of these comparisons, the very best Calisthenics equipment, which we have across 19 categories.
It is important to consider that these winners won in isolation, and it doesn’t mean there aren’t other great products in the same category. The differences in the best Calisthenics equipment are often negligible in the grand scheme of things. If you buy different products, it’s often smart to just buy them all from one brand that you like.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Gymnastic Rings
The best Calisthenics equipment to have is Gymnastic Rings. The rings are so versatile in nature, and you can do almost all your Calisthenics exercises on them. They are my personal favourite for said versatility, but also because you can buy one cost-effective product and be (nearly) completely set for your Calisthenics. It’s also compact and lightweight, so you can store it easily or take it with you.
The winner in this category is the Gorletic Gymnastic Rings. I prefer wooden grips on anything, but for the rings, they are essential. Wood absorbs your sweat, so you need less chalk, and nothing beats the feel of a satin finish wooden grip.
Gorletic hands down make the best Calisthenics equipment from wood, being ex-furniture makers with over 30 years of woodworking experience. They also offer both the 28mm Olympic standard and the 32mm CrossFit standard. The Gorletic rings also come with numbered straps to make it easy to equalise the rings. I also like the straps’ colour, which makes the markings easy to read.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Ceiling Hooks
Floating Gymnastic Rings haven’t been invented yet, so you need something to hang them from. You have several options, like using a Pull-Up Bar at home or at a Calisthenics park. Another great option is to use Ceiling Hooks. These are fastened to the ceiling and relatively flat, so they don’t take up much space. This is also the method professional gymnastics gyms use to attach their rings.

- 10% discount with code CWW10
There are a couple of options that function the same and are similarly priced. You can’t go wrong with any of them since they are pretty straightforward to produce. My personal favourite is the Marmati Ceiling Hooks, which are a one-piece design with a sleek powder-coated steel finish. If you’re getting the best Calisthenics equipment, it’s worth the little extra to make it look good.
Best Calisthenics Equipment: Resistance Bands
Resistance Bands are a versatile tool that belong in the best Calisthenics equipment because they can make nearly any exercise either easier or more difficult. There is almost no point in your Calisthenics career that you can’t make good use of several pairs of quality Resistance Bands. Resistance Bands come in different resistances; the thicker the band, the higher the resistance it offers. Besides carrying part of your weight during, for instance, Pull-Ups, or making your Push-Ups harder, you can also use these bands for your warm-ups.

10% off with our code: CWW10
There are many good Resistance Bands, and the only important factor is that they are flat bands. All the best Calisthenics equipment brands make them, so just buy them from the same brand where you got your Pull-Up Bar from.
Best Calisthenics Equipment: Exercise Mats
The only function of exercise mats is to give you a slightly more comfortable surface for your ground exercises. Another good reason for an exercise mat is to do certain core exercises where you make much contact with the floor, or if you do your exercises somewhere else and want a physical barrier between yourself and the (publicly used) floor.
These exercise mats are yoga mats but in a Calisthenics-approved colour. All these mats will wear out over time, so just buy a reasonably high-quality mat for a low price if you can. I found a good price-quality combination that works perfectly for Calisthenics in the Eric Flag Exercise Mat.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Doorway Pull-Up Bars
Doorway Pull-Up Bars go between the door post, and you extend them until they wedge themselves tight (typically by twisting the two halves of the bar in opposite directions). They are also called Telescopic Pull-Up Bars because of this telescoping, unscrewing mechanism. Since they rely purely on friction to sit tight between the door posts, you do need a solid door frame for this type of bar. In the past, these bars led to many accidents where they’d come unstuck during exercise.
Doorway Pull-Up Bars from the best Calisthenics equipment brands, however, have come a long way. They are the safest doorway design, cheap and versatile. You can quickly deploy them in your doorway, and they don’t take up much room. You can do all your basic Pull-Ups and Chin-Ups, only limited by the width of your door. By putting them at different heights, you can use a Doorway Pull-Up Bar as a Static Bar and a straight Push-Up Bar for exercises like straight-bar dips, push-ups, and L-sits.
In this category, there are two winners: The Pullup & Dip Telescopic Bar and the GORNATION Extend-It. They are the same product for all intents and purposes.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Doorframe Pull-Up Bars
A Doorframe Pull-Up Bar hooks over the header trim of your door frame. This is a good alternative to a telescoping design if your door posts aren’t particularly robust (for instance, with many “light frame construction” walls, the door headers will be much more robust than the door posts). Of course, you do need that ledge from the trim for this to work. This type of bar is even more notorious for failing, unless you get it from the best Calisthenics equipment brands.
The clear winner in this category is the GORNATION Hook-It. It is still very compact, and the hooks fold flat when the bar is not in use. The GORNATION Hook-It has two bars, and the wider top bar is wide enough for wide pull-ups, which is fairly unique among all Door Pull-Up Bars.
Of course, a Doorframe Pull-Up Bar only has one height, the height of your door, so it is less versatile than a telescoping Doorway Pull-Up Bar. But on the GORNATION Hook-It, you can still do your back- and front-levers on the bottom bar, aside from Pull-Ups and Chin-Ups (including wide ones) on the top bar.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Pull-Up Handles
Pull-Up Handles are the most compact way to store and travel with your Pull-Up Bar. You simply hook the handles over the trim of a door header, and you’re good to go. The hooks clamp down harder on the door header as more weight is applied below, making them mechanically safe by design.
You can do your Pull-Ups, L-sits, Toe-Touches and all these basics while you’re travelling. The Pull-Up Handles will fit in any suitcase, even a stuffed one, and add almost no weight.
In this category, much will depend on material quality. Since there isn’t much material to work with and it’s always plastic, you want a good-quality pair. The winner in this category is easily the original Pull-Up Handles, the Duonamic Eleviia. Yes, we can go on about the cheaper alternatives to the best Calisthenics equipment. The Duonamic Eleviia are the highest quality, feature the most comfortable grips, and offer the option to attach Gymnastic Rings. That’s a lot of versatility in a travel package. The competitors are just cheap knock-offs.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Wall-Mounted Door Pull-Up Bars
A Wall-Mounted Door Pull-Up Bar is the least invasive type of mounted Pull-Up Bar. It does need to be bolted to the wall, but it goes above the door into the door header. This makes it sit out of the way more than most mounted designs. Typically, your doorway is higher than even the typical Free-Standing design. You use the doorway’s space for your exercises, and often the space above the door has no real “function” anyway.
These characteristics make the Wall-Mounted Door Pull-Up Bar a great compromise between saving space and having the strength of a mounted design.
The winner in this category is the Pullup & Dip Door Pull-Up Bar. It wasn’t a difficult choice since it’s the only one from the best Calisthenics equipment brands. It is a wide bar and has a nice grip. It also has a nice look that could easily be mistaken for a curtain rod when not in use. You won’t even notice it’s there.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Ceiling-Mounted Pull-Up Bars
Ceiling-Mounted Pull-Up Bars have the significant advantage of space around the bar. You can place it anywhere you like, as long as your ceiling (joists) are suitable. You should hang it in the middle of a room with lots of free space around it. It comes close to a Wall-Mounted Door Pull-Up Bar, except the door frame and header aren’t in the way of explosive pull-ups and chin-ups and of course, skin-the-cat and lever-based exercises.
The winner in this best Calisthenics equipment category is the GORNATION Multi Bar. It has a nice grip and a sleek, minimalist design. More importantly, it has enough headspace above the bar so you don’t bump your head into the ceiling.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Wall-Mounted Pull-Up Bars
For a Wall-Mounted Pull-Up Bar, the wall offset is an essential factor in its versatility. I prefer placing this type of Pull-Up Bar outside because you can decide the height. If you put it indoors, you probably cannot do exercises on top of the bar, like Muscle-Ups and Straight Bar Dips. You would have to place the bar so low that it’s no longer a good Pull-Up Bar. Outside, though, the sky is the limit (literally), meaning you can do your Pull-ups, Chin-Ups and Levers, but also all the above-the-bar work without bumping your head into anything.
That also means the bar needs to be able to hang outside without rusting. The winner is the GORNATION Wall Pull-Up Bar. It is suitable for permanent outdoor placement, and it has a nice wall offset so you don’t bump your head on the wall while doing levers.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Free-Standing Pull-Up Bars
Free-Standing Pull-Up Bars give you the height without drilling into your wall, ceiling, or door header. Free-Standing Pull-Up Bars offer plenty of versatility and height, but they require a lot of space, so you might need to place them outside. All the best Calisthenics equipment brands offer free-standing pull-up bars. For this category, we have three winners since this is one of the most diverse categories of best Calisthenics equipment: the best General Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar, the best Portable Pull-Up Bar and the Most Complete Pull-Up Bar.

Best General Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar
- In-depth Gravity Fitness Pull-Up Rack Review
The Gravity Fitness Pull-Up Rack is the general winner. It is very stable, and you get to do a lot of Calisthenics on it. You should get it with the extension kit for more height and stability. Even with the extension kit, it is still the cheapest option for a Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar among the best Calisthenics equipment brands.
You can easily do all your pull-ups and chin-ups on this bar. The Gravity Fitness Pull-Up Rack can also be laid on its side, and that transforms one of the floor bars into a Static Bar for your Muscle-Ups and Straight Bar Dips. What was the top bar is now your Push-Up Bar, while it’s on its side as well.
The Gravity Fitness is nearly as versatile as the Most Complete Pull-Up Bar, especially if we just look at Calisthenics and not include Streetlifting or Weightlifting. It is also relatively lightweight and nearly as portable as the best Portable Pull-Up Bar while being more stable. It shares many qualities with the other winners, while being an all-around good Pull-Up Bar and budget-friendly.
Best Portable Pull-Up Bar
The best Portable Pull-Up Bar in the free-standing category is the Bullbar 2.0 Foldable Pull-Up Bar. This bar is great because it gives you an easily transportable option while still being a full-sized Pull-Up Bar. The Bullbar is very easy to deploy and unfolds like a harmonica from just one piece. You conjure an instant Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar from a bag.
The bar itself is suitable for all your standard exercises like Pull-Ups, Chin-Ups and Levers. You can also do your wide-grip varieties. With the dip extensions, you can do your dips as well and the handles double as push-up bars since you can place them at different heights.
If you get the optional carry bag, you can wheel the Bullbar around, and it pops right in or out of the bag.
Most Complete Pull-Up Bar
- In-depth GORNATION Pull-Up Station review
The GORNATION Pull-Up Station is the most complete and versatile Pull-Up Bar in its category. It even goes beyond power towers with the addition of a squatting station. The GORNATION Pull-Up Station not only features a wide top bar but also includes a dip bar extension with a straight bar and parallel bars. There is also a bottom bar for your straight bar Push-Ups.
As said, the GORNATION Pull-Up Station is also a squat station. There are hooks for your barbell, and your weight plates fit the pins on each corner of the feet. Adding the weights to the pins also makes the GORNATION Pull-Up Station even more stable, enough to do above-the-bar exercises like rollovers and muscle-ups. It is also suitable for outdoor placement.
This is the perfect heavy-duty Streetlifting Pull-up Bar and is objectively better than the Gravity Fitness Pull-Up Rack. However, that includes factors that aren’t relevant to Calisthenics, and the GORNATION Pull-Up Station is a much more expensive buy.
Best Calisthenics Equipment: Dip Bars
A good set of Dip Bars is also essential for your Calisthenics home gym. Most Dip Bars come in two pieces, which lends them a bit more versatility beyond just dips and L-sits or V-sits. Using a single dip bar, you can do your levers and even rows. The best Dip Bars are the Gravity Fitness Dip Bars. The Gravity Fitness Bars are stable, high-quality, and, once again, the most budget-friendly in the line-up. They are also nice and high, so you can easily maintain ground clearance with your legs. Especially if you have longer legs, you don’t want the bars to be too low to the ground.

Besides levers and rows with bent knees, you can’t really use dip bars as a Static Bar. A single Dip Bar is simply not stable enough for those kinds of exercises. That’s why I’d like to name an honourable mention in this category, the GORNATION Dip Bars, since these come with a connecting plate. With the plate attached, you join the two bars, making them much more stable. You can then safely do your handstands, for example, as well as rows with straight legs. The GORNATION Dip Bars are considerably more expensive than the Gravity Fitness bars, however.
If you’re shopping with either Gravity Fitness or Gornation for other stuff, you might as well get their dip bars as well. Both brands compete heavily as the best Calisthenics equipment manufacturers.
Best Calisthenics Equipment: Wall-Mounted Dip Bars
All the stability issues with dip bars are resolved with Wall-Mounted Dip Bars. By attaching them to the wall, you get a very high weight capacity, perfectly stable bars, and the ability to mount them at any height you like. This makes Wall-Mounted Dip Bars the perfect option for weighted dips. You can place them high enough so a Dip Belt doesn’t touch the floor, while the bars themselves are strong and stable enough to handle the added weight.
The best Calisthenics equipment in this category is the GORNATION Wall Dip Bars. These are simple, have an excellent thick grip and have a maximum capacity of 150kg. They also feature a durable powder coating suitable for permanent outdoor use.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Weighted Vests
Weighted Vests are the easiest way to get into Weighted Calisthenics. You can easily add additional weight over time, while the vest itself doesn’t impede your movements much. My advice here is to go with a 20kg vest. You can find 10kg vests as well, but once you get to a level where weighted exercise becomes a thing, you will quickly outgrow 10kg. With 20kg, you get much more leeway to grow. You can always just take out the weights and still have the 10kg vest.
For exercises over 20 kilograms, I recommend a Dip Belt, which is better suited for very high weights where you typically don’t need the mobility anyway.
The best Calisthenics equipment in this category is the 20kg Gravity Fitness Weighted Vest. This is our favourite vest. It is very rugged, low-profile and very reasonably priced.

The one outlier I would like to mention, despite just stating not to get a 10kg vest, is the Hyperwear Vest. This one fits like a glove and is very flexible. That makes it great for jogging or doing Calisthenics moves like rollovers and skin-the-cat, where a standard Weighted Vest might move around too much.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Belts
If you want to really scale up the added weight to your training, a Dip Belt is a necessity. Most of the best Calisthenics equipment brands produce Dip Belts, but there is competition now from Streetlifting brands. Generally, there are Dip Belts with and without back support. In Streetlifting, they only allow belts without back support because at very high weights, you want all the weight to sit on your hips, with none pressing into your back. Most normal Calisthenics practitioners will never reach that kind of level, and it comes down to personal preference.
In either case, I prefer a numbered “daisy chain” rope for my weights, since it makes it easy to hang them at the right height every time. For the rest, they should be as comfortable as possible around your waist.

The GORNATION Dip Belt has back supports, sits comfortably and comes with a numbered daisy chain rope. The best option without back support is the MPDS Dip Belt, which is slightly thicker and sits comfortably without added back support, even under heavy load. It also looks cool, like a professional Streetlifter’s belt.

Best Calisthenics Equipment: Parallettes
Parallettes are a versatile platform for many exercises. You can do (incline) Push-Ups and L-sits or V-sits, but also Handstands with a set of Parallettes. Among the best Calisthenics equipment for beginners, a set of parallettes comes highly recommended. We divide Parallettes into three subtypes: mini-parallettes (push-up bars), medium parallettes, and low parallettes. Sometimes you’ll also see “high” parallettes, but these are just Dip Bars with a fancier name.

Best Mini Parallettes / Push-Up Bars
Mini Parallettes are light and compact. You can toss them in your bag, maybe with your Pull-Up Handles, and you’ll have functional parallettes for your exercises. However, there are limitations to what you can do with them. Mini Parallettes are low, so you can’t do very deep push-ups. They are also not as stable as medium or low parallettes.
The best Mini Parallettes are by Gorletic. Gorletic aces wooden grips again, and because of their great anti-slip feet, you’ll have the most stable parallettes of this size. Of all the Mini Parallettes I tried, these are the only ones I fully trust with a one-arm planche. The Gorletic Parallettes are also very budget-friendly.
Best Medium Parallettes
Medium parallettes are the most versatile type of parallettes. You can do your handstands on them, and because they are higher, you can make deeper motions, like for your push-ups. However, medium parallettes are less stable than low parallettes, and they are not well suited for wide exercises. If you go too wide with your exercise, you’ll notice that the parallettes start toppling long before they slip.
In the medium parallettes category, the only winner can be categorically Gravity Fitness. The Gravity Fitness Medium Parallettes are stable, have good anti-slip properties, and the grip feels nice. Of course, medium parallettes are higher, so you can’t get the same kind of stability as low parallettes, and neither do I expect them to.
Best Low Parallettes
Low parallettes are the most stable and perfect for wide exercises as well as inverted movements like handstands and handstand push-ups. They also have all the versatility of push-up bars but not the depth of a medium parallette.
The best low parallettes are by Gorletic, no surprises there. The Gorletic low parallettes are the bigger brother of the mini parallettes. They have excellent grip and perfect stability. The Gorletics also feature the best anti-slip feet I’ve ever seen on any similar product, including on dip bars. Of course, they can still tilt if you go too wide, but they are still very stable. Front-to-back motion simply won’t move them at all unless you physically pick them up.
Just like the Gorletic Mini Parallettes, they are very reasonably priced.
Best Calisthenics Equipment: Static Bars
Static Bars aren’t something a beginner needs to worry about. I don’t even include them in the standard Calisthenics home gym setup. Statics are also a kind of discipline apart in Calisthenics. But for the more advanced user, a static bar is an accessible, versatile piece of equipment that can be used for many different exercises.
Things to look out for with static bars are their stability and a grip that is neither too thick nor too thin. Statics include both push and pull techniques, and we would want a thicker grip for push exercises and a thinner one for pull-ups and chin-ups. Since a static bar is just one bar, it needs to be somewhere in between.
Another factor to look for is width. A wider bar is better, since you can then use wide-grip varieties for your levers or even learn the Maltese.
The clear winner in this best Calisthenics equipment category is the Fitnesskit Static Bar 185cm module. This bar offers outstanding stability, especially considering you can get it in 185cm. You also get some choice in grip diameter. The quality is likewise exceptional, and the FitnessKit can remain outside indefinitely. All of these qualities do come at a price, just like the rest of the FitnessKit products.

Since the price leap is enormous between the winner and the runner-ups, I’ll make a rare exception and mention the runner-ups here as well. The Gravity Fitness Static Bar is considerably cheaper, but still has a very nice grip and good stability. You definitely lose width, though. The same goes for the THENX Static Bar, which has a slightly better grip but also costs more.

Liquid Chalk and Grip Tape
Almost any surface can get slippery when you’re sweating, and you never want to compromise on grip. The more you’re struggling to keep your grip, the less you’re isolating the muscles you want to hit. Even the best Calisthenics equipment can get slippery.
10% off with our code: CWW10
Liquid chalk is a better alternative to the old-fashioned magnesium blocks. They contain the same particles but leave much less of a mess in the area when applied. Likewise, adding grip tape to a bar or handle can increase the traction and minimise the slipperiness.
- 10% discount with code CWW10
All the products I’ve tested, including those from the best Calisthenics equipment brands, are essentially all the same. My advice is to just get them where you shop for all your other equipment.
Your Calisthenics Home Gym Suggestions
You can mix and match different products and get the best Calisthenics equipment for your own home gym. However, there are, of course, different situations and applications. We came up with four suggested Calisthenics Home Gym setups that allow you to do all your Calisthenics.
A Minimalist Calisthenics Home Gym
For a minimalist Calisthenics home gym, we want to keep the budget tight while still getting the best Calisthenics equipment for our workouts. In this case, I always fall back to the Gymnastic Rings to replace the Pull-Up Bar, Dip Bar and even the Static Bar. I would also add Mini Parallettes or Push-Up Bars to that, so you don’t have to change the height of your rings every other exercise.

| Product Image | Product Name | Primary Button |
|---|---|---|
A combination of the Gorletic Gymnastic Rings and the Gorletic Mini Parallettes works great here. For well under 100, you can do all your Calisthenics. Of course, you need a place to hang your rings. You could make a trip to the hardware store and get some ceiling hooks, or splurge on brand-name ceiling hooks, which will only set you back another 30 or 40.
That’s it, you have a complete Calisthenics home gym. Imagine clearing out a spare room; only the rings hanging there and a set of Parallettes. It’s minimalist, but it consists of some of the best Calisthenics equipment, and it works.
As for how to use the rings, you can start by looking through YouTube for some effective, beginner ring workouts.
A “Minimalist Plus” version would be getting the Die Ringe workout app. Although their app is not only for the gymnastic rings anymore, they are still the go-to source for professionally made Calisthenics programs that rely on gymnastic rings. The Die Ringe app also costs $100 (a year), but you get a free set of rings with it. You can also get their parallettes, which are fine, and they offer ceiling hooks.

A Premium Calisthenics Park
If you want to build your own complete gym or Calisthenics park, FitnessKit produces the best Calisthenics equipment. FitnessKit equipment consists of modules that attach to other modules. You can attach the FitnessKit Static Bar module to the pull-up bar module, and so on. This creates a very stable structure. They also have dip bars and other customisations you can add to your existing FitnessKit park.

If you don’t have room in the house, you can permanently place the FitnessKit assembly outdoors since all their products are weatherproof. Of course, being the best Calisthenics equipment comes at a premium.
Best Calisthenics Equipment for Streetlifting
If you want to get into heavy-duty streetlifting, then you need some heavy-duty equipment. The best Calisthenics equipment for Streetlifting comes from GORNATION. At the centre of this setup is the GORNATION Pull-Up Station. You can do all your Calisthenic on this. Combine this with your barbells and the GORNATION Dip Belt, and you’re already set for your indoor and outdoor Streetlifting workouts.
Conclusions About the Best Calisthenics Equipment
Don’t let my suggestions get in the way of picking and choosing the best Calisthenics equipment for your unique circumstances. There are great options out there that suit every budget and every need. Of course, there is also a lot of junk out there that isn’t worth your hard-earned money. That is why we are dedicated to reviewing as many products as we can, over 150 now and rapidly growing, to present you with the best Calisthenics equipment.
An added benefit is that we can often secure discount codes for many products, including those on this list. If you’d like to create your own home gym from the best Calisthenics equipment on the market, be sure to use the code CWW10 to get your discount where available.
In the meantime, I will be testing some more of the best Calisthenics equipment to add to this list.
