The Gorletic Handstand Canes are a new product category for us, and we’re stoked to try them out. We already know the Gorletic Parallettes and have had a good experience using them. This Spanish company has over 30 years of experience making wooden furniture and is taking the Calisthenics equipment market by storm. Gorletic is known for using high-quality wood and excellent woodworking skills to create high-end equipment for an affordable price. Needless to say, we are already big fans of Gorletic. Today, we’ll be reviewing the Gorletic Handstand Canes. We also have a discount code (CWW10) for you.

Like all Gorletic products, these Handstand Canes make a good first impression. The people at Gorletic know their way around a piece of wood. The stilts and blocks fit neatly into the wooden base, and everything unpacks from the base. The canes’ stilts slide into holes in the side and fit perfectly in their slots. The slots are deep enough that gravity keeps the stilts in place.
The blocks needed to turn the stilts into canes are stored in the base. You place them onto the stilts so that the three holes in the bottom of each block fit into the three protrusions on each stilt. This method is quick and easy to assemble. An additional hex key is provided and stored in the base to tighten the blocks. Assembly and disassembly took seconds only.
The logos are etched and look crisp. The finish on the wooden parts is perfect, which is another testament to why Gorletic might be the best wooden Calisthenics equipment producer on the market.
Gorletic Handstand Canes Compact First Look
The Compact Gorletic Handstand Canes also demonstrate excellent woodworking skills and modern engineering. When disassembled, they fit into each other, stilts and blocks included, into a package no larger than a small case. Thanks to the cutout grip, they can be easily transported by hand.
Pulling the two base plates apart from the grip separates the plates and canes. The only step left before you can start your hand-balancing exercise is sliding the stilts into the slots. Assembling the Compact Gorletic Handstand Canes was even faster than assembling the Elite version. Disassembled and packed, they can fit into any large duffel bag or gym bag.
We have no remarks about the woodworking quality, fit, or finish other than a fantastic job. We got our own Calisthenics Worldwide logo printed on the Compact Canes, and they did a nice job crisply etching them on the base plate. You can also have your logo etched prominently on many Gorletic products, including versions of both handstand canes.

Testing the Compact Gorletic Handstand Canes
We liked using these handstand canes to exercise our handstands, L-sits, and planks. We’re used to handstand blocks, but those do not allow for a good grip around them. The canes gave us much more control over the exercise by allowing us to wrap our fingers around the blocks. The blocks can also rotate freely, even when you’re already on them. This rotation gives you more freedom in the exact rotation of your wrists and allows for a freer transition between different poses and exercises.
The Compact Gorletic Handstand Canes felt very stable, and we could only detect minor movement in the stilts. Any slight movement was minimal and easy to predict. Overall, the Compact Canes are sturdy and stable, giving you much freedom to practice hand balancing.
Testing the Elite Gorletic Handstand Canes
The Elite Gorletic Handstand Canes are much taller, but you’re limited to a set width between them. Using them, we immediately noticed more movement in the stilts than with the Compact Canes. The additional movement is logical since all the other dimensions are the same except the length. A longer stilt means any movement at the base is a broader movement at the top. It is still minimal, and the base stands completely solid and unmoving.
The width between the canes is limited, and you might need to squeeze your legs through when getting up into an L-sit or transitioning between an L-sit and a handstand. It’s not unpleasantly narrow, though.
Like with the Compact Gorletic Handstand Canes, we felt more control over our bodies by wrapping our fingers around the blocks. The only thing that worked against us was our fear of heights, especially when trying to invert ourselves like this. The canes, though, were not to blame for this.
The Elite Canes are the more advanced tool. They provide a stable base with plenty of ground clearance for advanced exercises like flags and one-arm handstands.
Round Blocks Addons
The round blocks change your grip and give more purchase to the palms of your hands. We feel the round blocks give you a more stable downward platform, but the square blocks allow you to wrap around more of your finger’s length. In hindsight, the round blocks are more suited for straightforward up-and-down exercises like static handstands. The square blocks give you more control, but depending on personal preference, either block shape will work.

Conclusions About the Gorletic Handstand Canes
Everything about the Gorletic Handstand Canes speaks of high-quality materials used by skilled craftsmen to create excellent products. They look stable, sturdy and durable, and there is nothing to remark about their fit and finish. This aspect of Gorletic didn’t come as a surprise ─ point in case: the Gorletic Front Lever Bar.
The Compact Canes are small enough to take with you. They’ll fit in a duffel bag or hiking backpack, which is impressive for anything that involves stilts. Another significant advantage of the Compact Canes is that you can decide the distance between the canes. They are lower, but if you tuck in your legs, you still get almost 30cm of ground clearance to do things like presses and transitions between a sit and a handstand.
The larger Elite Gorletic Handstand Canes are an excellent option for the advanced hand balancer or if you want to become an advanced hand balancer. Being higher off the ground also makes you more prominent to any audience you might be performing for.

Frequently Asked Questions About Gorletic And Their Handstand Canes
We found more frequently asked questions about Gorletic, the company, and Handstand Canes.
Are handstand canes easier than balancing on the floor?
Although the height of the canes may be scary, it is mechanically easier to balance on canes than with your hands flat on the floor. The additional height is there for show.
Are hand-balancing blocks or handstand canes better?
Hand-balancing blocks and handstand canes serve the same purpose, and both give you a more stable platform for your wrists to perform hand-balancing acts. Handstand canes raise you higher off the floor, giving the audience a better look.
